Writing a Christmas card letter is the perfect way — and your family and friends will be delighted with your personal letter this year.  Of course, sending a letter is also less costly — and takes less time — than buying and mailing out packages.

List and provide a brief overview of each of your children.  Items you might include are:

• current age
• grade level in school
• name and location of school
• favorite subject(s)
• sports or activities child participates in
• things that are important to each child at this point in his/her life

Christmas Card Letter Idea #3:

Offer recent news regarding other family members the recipient may know:

• your parent(s)
• spouse’s/partner’s parent(s)
• grandparent(s)
• friends you have in common

Now, there’s no need for anything fancy.  You can handwrite your letter on lined paper — or type it up on your computer.  For a special touch, consider copying your letter onto colored paper — or even holiday stationery.  (Be careful not to use paper that is too dark, as it will make it more difficult to read.)

You might also top off your letter with a recent family photo.
